Kristen Ashton, LPC
Kristen is a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with adults facing a wide variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, women's issues, relational difficulties, life transitions, spirituality, and identity development. Above all, Kristen practices from a person-centered lens, prioritizing each client feeling seen, heard, and empowered in the midst of their struggles. She utilizes an integrative approach of empirically-based counseling techniques, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Kristen earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University and her master’s degree in counseling from Messiah University, with a specialization in marriage, couple, and family counseling. She has previously worked in a college counseling setting and in aging services, giving her varied experiences across the lifespan.
Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with family, going on adventures with her son, cooking new recipes, savoring a cup of coffee, running, gardening, watching soccer, and reading books that are hard to put down.
